dp Stuff Utils for Revit 2015

From the dp Stuff website...

dp Stuff Utils for Revit 2015 is a collection of time saver legacy addins upgraded for 2015 version with a few bug fixes. This time instead of downloading each addin separately all the dp Stuff tools from the Utils series were bundled into one installer. The fixes from 2014 version will mainly affect the users of metric Revit files. See description of each tool below:

ChangeTextCase

ChangeTextCase 2014 Revit AddinChangeTextCase 2014 Revit Addin allows you to alter the case of Revit Text elements. You will be able to chose between: UPPERCASE, lowercase, TitleCase, SentenceCase.

Apart from that you would be able to chose whether you want to alter selected text notes only or all visible text notes in the active view.

CopySelectionIds

CopySelectionIds Revit Addin dp StuffMeet CopySelectionIds addin! I think it took me 10 minutes or so to write and compile this tool. It has absolutely no UI and is the simplest tool on Earth (even simpler than any “Hello World” sample). But who cares – if you are like me and use Revit’s IDs of Selection command a lot and copy Element IDs to clipboard to use them later then it can cut the actions to achieve that goal in half! Now your process of copying selection IDs to clipboard looks precisely like that:
  1. select elements
  2. run CopySelectionIds shortcut (you have got to assign a shortcut to this one!)
That is it – the IDs are on the clipboard!

RemoveAreasRooms

PermRemoveAreasRooms 2014 Revit Addin from dp StuffRemoveAreasRooms 2014 Revit Addin allows you to delete rooms or areas permanently on the fly directly from any of your Revit views without having to do it from the Revit schedule.RemoveAreasRooms 2014 Revit Addin allows you to delete rooms or areas permanently on the fly directly from any of your Revit views without having to do it from the Revit schedule. You have two options: either pre-select the elements and run the tool to delete just the rooms/areas in your selection, or you can collect ids of rooms/areas that you want to get rid of and copy/paste them via “Type In Element Ids” method.

CropViewToSelection

CropViewToSelection 2014 Revit AddinCropViewToSelection 2014 Revit Addin lets crop your 3D Views to elements in active selection. You will have an option to either pre-select elements to which you want your view to be cropped or you can type in element ids in the plugin’s dialog box.

NumberStuffByDirection

NumberStuffByDirection 2014 Revit AddinNumberStuffByDirection 2014 Revit Addin allows you to number Revit elements in sequence (rows or columns). The elements must have an Integer Instance parameter that the sequence number will be assigned to. You will be asked to specify the Parameter Name, Direction in which to number and the starting number of the sequence.

QuickViewAccess

QuickViewAccess 2014 Revit AddinQuickViewAcces 2014 Revit Addin lets you set and access your most often used views without having to search through Project Browser. It stores the views that you assigned to it in a text file so even if you close Revit session and reopen this file some other time – when you invoke the QuickViewAccess plugin it will pull out the same views that you stored in it last time. The best thing to use it is to set a short cut for it. I have a QQ short cut set for it any time I need to open any of my views. So, give it a shot if it fits your workflow and if you think it will make you more productive.

RemoveEmptyTags

RemoveEmptyTags 2013 Revit AddinJust as the name suggests RemoveEmptyTags 2013 Revit Addin allows you to find and remove empty tags from your Revit document. You will have two options whether you want to remove empty tags in the active view or in the whole document. You can use it in conjunction with out-of-the-box Revit Tag All tool.

UpdateAreaCalcs

UpdateAreaCalcs Revit API Addin from dp StuffUpdateAreaCalcs 2014 Revit Addin from dp Stuff operates on Room or Areas and can do simple arithmetic calculations with any 2 numeric parameters that have values assigned to them and push results into another Non Read-Only numeric parameter. You will also be able to control how the results are rounded via Rounding Options. Pretty straight forward – and much better than going over every single area or room and assign values manually. Hopefully it will save you some time for a beer on Friday afternoon!

WorksetExplorer

WorksetExplorer 2014 Revit AddinHave you ever wanted to be able to quickly see what the heck is going on with your worksets? WorksetExplorer 2014 Revit Addin will make it easier to manage and maintain your worksets and elements on them.
  • the dialog box will open and in the “tree” your elements will be sorted by workset, then by category, then by family, then by type.
  • every “branch” will have a name and the amount of elements on it in parentheses.
  • once you see something that shouldn’t be on a particular workset then you can select the branch and click “Select Elements” button – that will add elements that belong to this branch to selection.
  • now you can send them to the workset they are supposed to be on.
  • repeat until all worksets are in good shape

ArchiSpeak

ArchiSpeak Generator 2014 Revit Addin Check out what kind of poetry you might be spitting out in just a few minutes with ArchiSpeak Generator 2014 Revit Addin:

“In the final rationalization the initial stage of conceptual development recognizes the critical necessity to subtract from the anticipated degree of human ambiance. ”

it's really sad, dp make great addins but they release them sooooo late that they are useless, most will be upgrading to Revit 2016 in a few months and if it takes them this long to get the 2015 version out, they couldn't pay me to use their addin

Couple points: My employer's still using Revit 2012 and will be going to 2015 this summer. The most popular post on this log continues to be the 2014 Autodesk subscription enhancements - by a mile.

Also, it's difficult to do work when you're doing it pro-bono. I think the developer was smart to monetize his add-ins. It may help him to be more timely in the future.
