Free TOOLS4BIM Dock – Compact Access to AGACAD Product Management

From the AGACAD website...

Eliminating the tasks that do not bring value
Take the pain out of managing AGACAD TOOLS4BIM applications:
Simply upload your tools for Revit® and always work with up-to-date versions, try out other AGACAD products, get the newest information and help – all of this is just a few mouse clicks away.

What Dock Is and Why It’s Worth to Use
TOOLS4BIM Dock is a new interactive window in Autodesk® Revit® that you can use to access and manage all AGACAD developed Revit apps and BIM solutions. This tool manager is very practical and a powerful way to simplify Revit apps installation, activation and usage.

Install Any or All Products at Once
Formerly, by the previous AGACAD product installation procedure, each tool for Revit had to be installed and activated separately. Moreover, Revit user had to keep in mind to close Revit before installing procedure. It is now possible to easily install any desired product or all of them at once. It is also very simple to activate tools: you just have to click the Activate button. No more serial numbers but activation codes instead.

Big BIM Solution Layers in a Compact Environment
Previously all the Revit apps were visible in the Revit ribbon separately, each as a special menu tab. AGA CAD owns over 30 applications for Revit so you can imagine how long the ribbon can be... Now all tools are visible in the TOOLS4BIM Dock dashboard, the TOOLS 4 BIM tab is only placed in the Revit Ribbon. You can easily show Dock or hide it from this tab:

The TOOLS4BIM Dock works as a separate window likewise does the Properties palette or the Project Browser in Revit. Position of the Dock window can be changed along the user wishes: you can place Dock dialog to any Revit workplace, the same as with Properties or Project Browser window (on the left/right side of the screen, move to a second monitor or simply deactivate view):

Smart Details – Faster LOD400 Modeling in Revit (Updated)

From the AGACAD website...

Smart Details is an advanced solution for faster LOD400 modelling in Revit®. It is amazingly effective: load your families to the project, define rules and insert hundreds of elements into the project with a few clicks, follow project changes and quickly update, modify inserted details.

Editor's Note: AGACAD will be hosting a free interactive webinar on December 1st to announce and (presumably) demo Smart Details.

  • Easy setup of insertion rules
  • Insert details on any face of host element
  • Use parameters of host elements to make your details smart and adaptive to host length, thickness, height etc.
  • Insert details according to gravity point
  • Insert details according surrounding elements
  • Save your time by using update and modify options
  • Use interaction with Smart Assemblies to prepare shop drawings

Free Re-Number Duplicate Mark Add-in for Revit

From the SpiceTools website...

Warning Resolution.Re-Number Duplicate Mark Values
Often the source of annoying warnings in a project, the 'Elements have duplicate Mark Values' warning can slow down your project eventually. This error usually when families are copied multiple times.

Fail-Safe.Reliable Warning Resolution
The objective of using this tool is to two-fold: to remove the warning as quickly and painfully as possible and to make it possible to identify erroneous components for correction later.

It's Free.Don't let warnings slow you down!
We know that element Id's of each element is unique. So, in order to resolve this problem, we simply left the first instance of the mark as is and appended all the others with an underscore and the element ID. This ensures that all duplicate elements have unique mark numbers. Element Id's are clearly identifiable by its long string of numbers. When this is combined with an underscore, it becomes very easy for an user to revisit renumbered components leisurely at a later date and correct the mark values if necessary.

Free Symbolic Coordinates Add-in for Revit

From the SpiceTools website...

Custom Symbols.To report Spot X & Y Coordinates
This has been a minor irritant for a lot of offices that need to display spot symbols, but have to suffer the default out-of-the-box annotation. This tool provides you with two custom annotation symbols that you can change or create your own by following the prototype.

Simplicity. It is the name of the game.
At SpiceTools, we have dedicated our efforts to building tools for folks who aren't necessarily computer whizzes. They just need to get the job done, and quickly. This tool does exactly does. We hope you enjoy this.

Free Watch Levels add-in for Revit

From the SpiceTools website...

Finally. A tool with good consequences.
Dealing with linked files and levels inside them are always a gnarly issue. The built-in tools are great, but have consequences on your project. Sometimes all you want to do is watch but not act. You don't have to jump through hoops to achieve this. The LevelWatcher is the tool you have been waiting for.

Drag-and-Drop Monitoring Without the rituals.
Watching levels on any link is as easy as drag-and-drop. You can even mix-and-match links that you want to monitor. The automatic colour-coding makes it easy to keep your mind sane. Once you save your settings, the levels in your project remember (unless you tell it otherwise) what links they are supposed to watch and will warn you - you guessed it, with an appropriate colour-change - if something goes awry.

This one is about control. Control of complexity!
Level Watcher is mean't for large complex projects where effecting changes among various teams and stake-holders is not always instantaneous. This is where you need to keep lists of tasks and elements to monitor. Let us take some of the burden off your shoulders.

There's more information available on the SpiceTools website.

Free Delete Duplicates Add-in for Revit

From the SpiceTools website...

Easy To Use. It is pretty much self-explanatory.
DeleteDuplicates was created with the 'doer' in mind. Designers, Architects, and Engineers are mean't to create - not fiddle with software settings.

Get a quick overview of the state of your project. With the click of a mouse.
Users of the software are already familiar with the tree-view interface. This plug-in extends that interface to show the hierarchy and scale of duplicate elements in your project. Double-clicking a node will let you zoom to the offending object. The isolation option let's you pick apart even the most complex situations with the ease of a pro.

And lastly, this one is on us. Yes, you heard it right, this plug-in is free!
Duplicate Elements are silent assassins lurking within your project. You may have had a green team or played fast and loose with the building of the project. That does not mean that you have to pay the price of not being neat and tidy always. You may not need this often, but when you do, it will probably shave hours in accumulated opening, save, and regeneration times for your project.

Free Family Size Reporter Add-in for Revit

From the Autodesk App Store...

A simple app that reports the file sizes of loadable Families in an Autodesk® Revit® Project. The resulting report is grouped by Project Category by default. You can choose to remove the grouping and sort the list of families by Family Name or File Size on disk (in Kb).

Why do you need this App? If you find that your project is slowing down and suspect that some families may have been over-modeled, you can use this App to identify these families quickly. While File Size is not a definite indicator of performance, it is an easily understood metric. In a large project, there may be thousands of components. How does one find the sizes of the individual families? One solution is to save all the loadable families into a folder and then compare their sizes using windows explorer. This App is designed to automate this process and present the information without having to manage the individual family files using Windows Explorer or saving them out for that matter.

This App is part of a series of Apps 'RUTILITIES' by the same publisher.
