DWG Explorer – Purge Revit Models of Linked and Imported CAD Files (Updated)

From the Autodesk App Store:

Life is too short for manually purging obscured imported CAD files from you Revit project or family. Set your Revit files free of redundant & corrupted DWGs today!

Report 1 shows all linked or imported CAD file instances in the Revit model.

With DWG Explorer:
  1. You can instantly get a report of all CAD files in your Revit project or family. These include DWGs as well as any other CAD file types Revit can recognise such as DXFs, DGNs, SKPs or SATs. Each file will show if it is linked or imported, independent or view-specific. A Show button will let you select & see the file in a good view. A Delete button allows removing the file without having to find and select it.
  2. You can see any view-specific CAD file’s parent view & its visibility in that view. This allows quickly deleting a view-specific DWG not currently visible in that view!
  3. You can finally purge linked or imported CAD files by type. A second report will show all CAD file types in the model, each with its number of placed instances. A Delete buttons helps instantly remove obsolete types along with all of its copies!

Report 2 shows family types Revit has assigned to CAD files in the model.

Click SHOW to select & zoom to any CAD file on the list.

Click DELETE to remove any CAD file on the list without having to see or select it.

Similarly, click DELETE in report 2 to remove a redundant CAD file type along with all its copies in the model.

By default, 2 reports update dynamically as CAD files are added or removed. Untick
LIVE REPORT UPDATE to pause this.

All columns can be sorted to easily find the CAD file you need.

Meanings of all showed parameters are explained for new users.

Have a try and reclaim valuable off-screen time you surely can better spend elsewhere!
