Free Auto Insulate Add-in – For Pipe and Duct Insulation Workflows

From the Autodesk App Store:

Auto Insulate is a tool that empowers your team with better and smarter pipe and duct insulation workflows.

The simple and intuitive toolset is capable of placing various insulation thicknesses on pipes or ducts - based upon a set of conditions you decide.

The ability to place different insulations thicknesses on pipe and duct-series is made very easy. You only have to define the thickness settings for different insulations tasks for either pipes or ducts. Afterward, you just apply the task for any pipe or duct - based on its type or the system it belongs to.

With only one operation you are now capable of running auto insulate on your entire project.

Core functions:
  • Define insulation thickness settings for pipes and ducts
  • Create numerous tasks to run different insulation thickness settings, those between type or system for either duct or pipe
  • Execute insulation thickness tasks for the only check marked jobs
  • Run selected jobs on entire project or manually selected pipes/ducts
  • Save and reuse task and create company standards for insulating pipes/ducts and their fittings

Hello Developer,

I have couple of questions on this application. Please see below:
1) When we assign insulation thickness for ductwork and pipework through this application as we are not defining the worksets for them as all ductwork should be going into their respective worksets. As we created ductwork and we define them in 3 no different Ductwork worksets and same with pipework model in their worksets. So if we set current Pipework workset then all pipework and ductwork insulation thickness assign into pipework worksets. Which I would like to automatically going into their respective worksets for all elements. Is that possible?
2) See this is insulation thickness application, so could you develop same for lining?

Hello,
It seems your add in is really good, can you share the installation and main code, maybe we can develop it for 2020?
